Handover Links
Handover Links provide connectivity between Telecom's and service providers' networks. These allow service providers to extend the reach of their networks without heavy capital investment.
A Handover Link comprises two components - Handover Connection (either ATM or Ethernet-based) and Handover Fibre. Service providers can request a Handover Connection or Handover Fibre at Telecom's Handover Points.
There are four types of Handover Links:
- ATM Handover Connection + Handover Fibre for ATM-based services
- GigE (M40) Handover Connection + Handover Fibre for UBS and Basic UBA
- GigE (7450) Handover Connection + Handover Fibre for HSNS and Enhanced UBA
- Handover Fibre only - used to terminate products such as P2P Backhaul
Due to technical constraints, not all services can be delivered over a single Handover Link.
